CHI Hairdressers Debut on National Television




NBC’s hit show The Celebrity Apprentice returns to primetime TV for its 11th consecutive season premiering Sunday, March 6, 2011 at 9 p.m. EDT. Farouk Systems, makers of professional salon brands CHI and BioSilk will have Founder and Chairman Farouk Shami and a team of CHI Creative Artists appear on episode 9 of 13 airing May 1, 2011. Shami will be a guest judge during a special task.

The hairdressers making their national television debut on a network station are Global Artistic Board Patrick Kalle, Executive Artist Rocky McCormick and Global Artistic Board Joe Pena. Vice President of Farouk Systems and hairdresser Jason Yates will appear alongside of Kalle.

“It was a wonderful experience and opportunity to be part of one of the biggest shows in the US,” says Dutch native Kalle. “In my career as a hairdresser, entrepreneur and educator, working with the celebrities and crew on The Celebrity Apprentice is a milestone. A beautiful episode 9 is to come.”

“I started my career at Farouk Systems,” says Pena from Victoria, Texas. “Working with The Celebrity Apprentice will definitely rank as one of my highlights.”

Pena’s stage partner McCormick says, “Who knew a kid from Indiana would end up owning a salon in Denmark and then working with The Celebrity Apprentice? I’ve had amazing experiences since I’ve become a hairdresser and joined Farouk Systems.”

This season’s cast of The Celebrity Apprentice includes Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes, actresses Lisa Rinna and Marlee Matlin, model Niki Taylor, singer Dionne Warwick, former The View co-host Star Jones, Playmate Hope Dworaczyk and LaToya Jackson on the women’s team. On the men’s side, rapper Lil Jon, actor Gary Busey, former baseball player Jose Canseco, Survivor winner Richard Hatch, former teen idol David Cassidy, and singers Meat Loaf, John Rich and Sugar Ray lead singer Mark McGrath.
